World’s Fare

Every spring ALP holds its annual festival fundraiser celebrating Anchorage’s rich cultural diversity—the World’s Fare.  What began in 2002 as the dream of a former student has turned into a large community event featuring food, music, and dancing from all over the world.  Over 25 countries were represented at the 2003 Fare—with music and dance performances and samples of food from Peru, Gambia, Korea, China, the Dominican Republic, Tonga, and Poland, just to name a few.  If you attend the World’s Fare, you might be treated to Japanese taiko drumming, English Morris dancing or Brazilian sambas, and you might get to sample Thai-style noodles, Romanian salad or Turkish coffee.  Each year come prepared to find something new to see, taste and experience!

If you are interested in participating in any way in this fun event, please contact ALP at 337-1981.
